Abstract
This piece was written for the creative study of post-production soundtrack composition. For material to accompany, I browsed an archive of three-minute vintage videos with their sound disabled until I found this charmingly goofy 1950’s appliance advertisement featuring a man and woman dancing. This piece plays off the commercial’s speculatively brittle choreography and oddball on-screen chemistry. Its driving force is, therefore, a unique performance inspired by familiar dance elements… strung together and along with both spontaneity and product placement, suggesting its true presentational nature.
