Abstract
This session will summarize James Lang’s new book Small teaching: Everyday lessons from the science of learning (2016). Lang focuses attention on the numerous small changes to our teaching that (individually and collectively) result in new ways of helping students become better learners. Each of these changes is well within the capacity of all teachers. The changes are based on solid empirical work done in the learning sciences over many years.
