Abstract

General Files is divided into three boxes. The first box has information ranging from 1972-1993. A blue binder has events calendars, Christmas cards, dedications, receptions, groundbreakings, testimonials, installations, awards, and certificates. There are meeting files, memoranda on programs, budget lists, letters on Title III and Title IX (equality in sports for women), newspaper clippings pertaining to Regents, and Intercom copies. The second box has eight books titled: “The Unofficial ,Unbiased Insider’s Guide to the 320 Most Interesting Colleges (2003), “UMD Comes of Age: The First One Hundred Years”, “Familiar Quotations”, “The University of Minnesota, 1945-2000”, “The Best Midwestern Colleges”, “The Elements of Style”, “Writing Science News for the Mass Media”, and “The Television Writer”. There are also stacks of UMM photos and invites and a box of postcards. The third box has fall publications related to UMMs 40th birthday. There are files on retired professors such as Bettina Blake, Rodney Briggs, Truman Driggs, Mimi Freiner, Stephen Granger, James Gremmels, John Q. Imholte, Dave Johnson, and Gary McGrath.
