Abstract
Materials in this record sub-series (mainly correspondence, memoranda and reports) reflect the Vice-Chancellor's role in planning for facility upgrades and new construction. Most of these records are from the 1980s and especially from 1985 when a Physical Facilities Sub-Committee was at work assessing the campus's building needs. Of special interest are the plans to build an office and classroom building to house the Divisions of Humanities and Social Science. According to these early plans, Camden Hall and Community Services were to be demolished, and the plan was to remodel the Humanities Building for use by Continuing Education and Extension. Other materials include a proposal to build the Student Center (at an early stage the project was termed "The University Center). These records also reflect the campus's relationship with central administration and with the Minnesota State Legislature.
