Abstract
The Chancellor’s Papers on Campus Buildings and Environment include materials on diverse matters involving the campus buildings and environment. These include but are not limited to memoranda, correspondence, maintenance program/plans/reports/receipts/costs, minutes, hand-written notes, agreements/contracts, annual reports (dining services), legislative requests, inventory reports, project proposals, and University land holdings. Some materials have to do with the construction of HFA, Phases One and Two (Humanities and Fine Arts Building, at times labeled in the files as the “Arts Building”), and others refer to discussions over the naming of campus buildings, including the Community Services Building and the Multi-Ethnic Resource Center (Minority Resource Center). Also included are building requests for various years. A number of files contain information, dating to 1965, about plans for a new library. Interspersed are papers about gifts to the library and book and journal acquisitions. Of special interest is the early campus plan from 1966, the university-wide classroom study from 1996, and an early proposal to construct a Religious Foundation Center on campus. Most of the material is from the 1960s through the early 1990s.
